The sentiment in the OP link is, unlike the BLM shenanigans, worthy of the gesture.

Oddly enough that image is all over TwitFace.

How have you come across it?
Question Author
not via twitMeta I can assure you.
Ah no. That is "kneeling". A totally different action and motive, from "taking the knee". Which is an imitation of kneeling on someone's neck. A little insulting of you ttt, to try to compare them....

Have a day off pixie, you've been brainwashed love.
pixie ,,, so are you saying the millions of people who died in both world wars should not be remembered
Don't be daft. The picture you've shown, is kneeling, from respect and gratitude. Also, why servants kneel and often, people making proposals.
Footballers aren't "kneeling" out of respect. They are directly mimicking the actions of Chauvin.
Wake up, love. It's supposed to help you remember... not conflate and confuse.
that includes innocent civilians
Isn't that a picture of the Duke of Pork in disguise - or in his new job?
Brian.... yours aren't even worth a response. Only saying now, as you've tried twice.
I thought taking the knee as a gesture against race iniquality started about 5 years ago in US sport several years before Chauvin kneeled on George Floyds neck
Footballers aren't "kneeling" out of respect. They are directly mimicking the actions of Chauvin.

Where have you got that idea from. Pixie?
Question Author
brian, you'll never get any sense out of the anti British, they'll always produce snide comments when sincerity is present they can't help themselves.
Tora; don't use such patronising language to Pixie; it makes you appear to be somehing that I hope you're not.
Question Author
pixie: "Footballers aren't "kneeling" out of respect. They are directly mimicking the actions of Chauvin. " - gawd you don't even comprehend your own cobras!
Same as everyone else, roy.... his actions were what started this wave. It's been given the irritatingly annoying name of "taking the knee", to help people like ttt, differentiate it from traditional "kneeling". Because- it means something different there.
Thanks, atheist... I'm used to it :-). But... ABers can read, and most will already know x
Everyone else?
