Screensavers aren't necessary in this age of LCD monitors and they soak up CPU - why bother?
They aren't necessary but if you do insist then right-click on the desktop and choose Personalise from the pop-up menu.

Hans.
One bothers with screensavers because it keeps you informed the PC/Monitor is on, without having what you are doing displayed for anyone to see. And they can be attractive to look at also. (And in my case I still use a CRT monitor which will not go to the tip until it is beyond use.) Have to say that many so called screensavers I've seen in the past didn't actually look as it they were going to save much anyway.

Thanks all.
There is one class of screensaver that can be worth the bother and that is the type that uses your computer to contribute to worldwide research e.g. http://boinc.berkeley.edu/projects.php - as far as I know these haven't yet been open to abuse.
