On modern PC's is there any point in having Screensavers ? On my PC once the Screensaver goes 'off' after about 5 min, the screen goes blank anyway (Black Screen) so it seems my Monitor is being protected anyway !
Any views on this ?

screen savers are used to save your electricity .

it is not protected by the threats but it only saves the electricity.

if you want to set the screen saver .

right click on the my computer select the properties > screen saver and set the screen saver and the screen saver timer.

The best screen saver is a blank one, as screen savers are designed to protect burnout on your monitor from one image being displayed too long.

Having a screen saver like a fishtank or displaying photos is pointless and certainly doesn't svae the screen.
What a load of rubbish from johnpol. Screensavers USE electricity compared to switching the monitor off.
There is no reason for screensavers. They used to prevent image burn on old screens, which happened when the same static image was displayed for a long time. That just does not happen now and screensavers are just a fun thing to have, if you choose to use them.
Whether I am using a desktop or laptop, I switch the monitor off if I am away from the computer for more than a minute or two.

Thank you all for replying
I think I'll go for the Blank Screen option, as it does make a lot of sense really when I think about it.
