Malware

I have recently carried out a Malware scan on my laptop (Acer Aspire 5315 - Vista) as it had been running slow.
There were over 800 items needed dealing with and I had to check tick all the items to be dealt with.
I had to check tick each item seperately, which took me about half an hour, as it didn't give me the chance to tick them all in one go.
Does anyone know if there is a way I could have done them all in one go, in case I have to do another scan, at a later date.
Thanks

What program did you use?

I would recommend Malwarebytes.

Scan the computer - if it finds anything, turn off system restore, let malwarebytes clean the computer, restart, do another scan.

Only when clean turn back on system restore. Sometimes malware will reload themselves from system restore after malwarbytes has cleaned the computer.
Control A maybe ?
Failing that can you tick the first one, scroll to the last, and click on it with the shift key held down ?

Hi Tuvok, thanks for your answer. I did use Malwarebytes, but I did not turn off system restore. How would I do that please?

Thanks Old-Geezer, I will try that if it happens again
I recently did a scan using Malwarebytes and had the same problem, thankfully though, I only had 16 items to check.
I also couldn't work out how to tick them all in one sweep - I finally sussed it and I think this is what I did:
Tick the box of the first one and then right click it - the option of "check all" appears in the option list ...... I'm not 100% sure that this is what I did, but there is an option of ticking them all and I'm fairly sure this is what I did :)
If it is Malwarebytes, just right click on the list and pick "Select All" from the pop up menu.
