Just had my work machine upgraded, guess what we have a new version of word that comes by default with the most annoying settings. Double spacing bleeding auto complete everything that is never what you want. Who in their right mind wants all that sh1te turned on, all it does is make work while you have to spend hours trying to figure out how to turn it off. First you have to figure out where they have hidden the options. Then you have to undo what it's done before you can progress. Is there an evil joker type character sitting in the corner of microsoft going Mwwahahaha somewhere. Death's too good for them. rant over.

Further proof of the old adage...If it ain't broke, don't fix it! ;-)
Just go to File > options and its all there to turn on or off.

Double spacing is best remedied by changing in the normal.dot and re-saving with your changes

Thanks I figured it out, but why are the defaults always the ones that make you want to put your boot through the screen?

Download and run PC DECRAIFIER it is free and when you scan your computer it will ask you if you have a new or old computer you make the choice and it will scan and list all of the programs and then you tick the ones you don't want and it will uninstall them for you.

methl/galeck, I'm not in need of assistance. This is a general rant about software defaults.
I agree tora, the new version of Word they gave us at work is auto double spacing. Easily fixed, but annoying.
