You haven't said whether or not you have an anti-virus application running or that it's up to date.  Also, are you using Windows Xp, 2000, Millennium, 98 or 95?
Presuming you have an anti-virus program and it has removed the culprit, the best thing to do is use System Restore to restore your setting back to as they were before the virus struck.
System Restore is not available with Windows 98 or 95.
If you are running a system with System Restore, you can open it by clicking 'Start' - 'All programs' - 'Accessories' - 'System tools'.  Open the program and find a highlighted restore point date before the virus struck.

Hi
Sorry im using Windows ME, i only had spybot and adaware, iv recently installed the trail version of norton but its not fixing my prob, any suggestions on any others?

ps my system restore was no good either! i immediatly went to this but it cudnt restore for some reason

The trouble with System Restore is that if you have a virus, it will be in your checkpoints too so restoring from a recent checkpoint will restore the virus.

You should disable system restore before cleaning your computer then when you've completed the scan, restart the restore. If you need a site for instructions, go here:

You can do a free on-line virus scan at Trend Micro.
