I have had a couple of phone calls suggesting I have a problem on my computer. It eventually leads to a site AAMMYY which is a remote control site. Is anyone else getting these calls and are they scams. I ran the site through Norton who came back saying it was a SAFE site.

All complete scams. They phone people up who haven't even got a computer!
Absolute scam, curtis - just ignore it. Nobody can ring you and know you have a computer problem.. They are depending on frightening people. Just hang up. Tell 'em you haven't got a computer.
Yes and yes.

They are definitely scams curtis21. Hang up and register your phone number with the telephone preference service. This removes your number from many of the marketing lists and helps to prevent unwanted phone calls.

Do that here

Its free and legitimate.
I meant to explain that they get you to log on to their site, tell you you have a problem and get you to download something (which of course you don't need at all). Then they charge you hundreds of pounds to get the computer going again. If you don't pay, the software you've downloaded blocks your computer.
I'm afraid registering with the phone preference service makes no difference - they ring anyway!! I tell them if they know there's a problem with my computer, they must have been hacking into it. That scares them off!
