Computer Problem

My computer fails to show the Windows 7 logo loading when i start it ? Just a black screen ? Its been happening for 2 days now, how do i resolve this ?

Don't want my PC to get worse :(

Do you mean it skips the logo screen but actually goes on to load up, or do you mean it just hangs on a black screen?

Then i have to restart PC by pressing On button

My old pc does the same at start up. I sometimes have to stop it ( because when i start its black screen, but loads of noise, as though its running) by holding the on button in, then when its all died down and stopped, restart with a firm press and hold for 2 seconds on the start button.

yes thats what I have been doing. How do i resolve this ?

If you've still got the installation disks, you could use them to boot up Windows and select 'Repair'

Can anything be done without the disks ?

When you got the pc did you make System Recovery Disks, as they recommended?

I have the Window 7 CD. Would I need to use this to repair on boot up ? How do I manage to boot off the CD ?
