Keyboard Connection.

Anyone any ideas on this problem ?
I have a Logitech cordless keyboard where the transceiver is connected via a PS/2 connector, although the transceiver termination is a USB plug it connects to the PS/2 socket via an adapter.
My problem is that if I connect directly to a USB socket and forget the PS/2 when
I start the PC it will not 'boot' and says 'no keyboard connected'.
Yet if I start the PC using the PS/2 connection then 'plug-in' the keyboard using the USB, the keyboard functions OK.
THanks

Either turn off halt on keyboard error in the BIOS and/or turn on legacy USB keyboard support, again in the BIOS.

Hi Chuck, since my last post I have 'worked out' how to get into BIOS and have
been in. USB legacy is ENABLED,but I can't find anything that makes reference to keyboard errors
Cheers
Can't really say much more without more information on exactly what the computer is because all BIOSs are different.

Thanks for the response Chuck, I understand the problem because of the different BIOS systems. I have up-graded the system so many times it's a
mixture. I don't know whether it helps but the mother board is an ECS RS485M
with an Athlon 64 X2 4400+ CPU. running under XP.
Anyway thanks for your help Chuck.
Look in the BIOS under standard CMOS settings and set the "halt on" option to all but keyboard.
p.s.

the manual for that motherboard is here...
