This morning I did a system restore which worked up to a point, but I now find that all the icons on my desktop have shrunk to about a third of their normal size. Even the tool bars and task bar have shrunk, also this AB page.
Help appreciated please.

Pity you don't mention which OS you are using.
In XP, right-click the desktop, choose Properties
Go to the settings tab
Either decrease the screen resolution or click advanced and increase the DPI setting. Ideally, you will set the resolution to match the native resolution of your monitor (assuming that it's LCD), and then, if things are too small for you, increase the DPI setting.

Many thanks Rojash. In recent days I had someone visit to increase the RAM on my PC, but other things were discovered. Something described as a 'metal heatsink' had come adrift from the motherboard and was replaced by some kind of graphics card. Not that I understand these complexities but that could have had something to do with it. However, with your help things are as near as no matter back to normal. I still have to do a bit of 'zooming' but that's no real problem.
