Following the disgraceful actions of both the players and supporters of AC Milan in their match against Tottenham Hotspurs in last nights champions league match, should UEFA take some sort of action to try and put an end to the over inflated ego's of the players and bring them back down to earth?

Yes, but they won't. Too much money at stake all round.
Should they? Yes
Will they? Probably not
Would they if it were English-based players/fans? Yes
They were an absolute disgrace to the game of football,Gattuso should be banned for life, career over, and Milan kicked out of the champions league.
spot on Les - if one of our players had reacted inappropriately, the press and tv would of gone on for weeks. Probably debated in the House of Commons!
There is a precedent here, mark. When Drogba "lost it" against Barcelona two seasons ago, he was banned for six matches (two suspended), and Bosingwa banned for three (reduced to two on appeal). On that occasion it was for a verbal outburst. Surely what Gattuso did was worse?

Glad to see that there are like minded sports fans out there, it certainly seems as though we live in a two tier system when it comes to punishment for football offences.
what happened ?? remember I AM in the frozen north that is Scotland..don't get the same footie coverage here !

Milan fans were aiming laser pointers at spurs players faces to put them off and one of the Milan players did a soft head butt on Jordon (member of spurs coaching staff) at the end of the match after having a set to with him earlier. Not to mention some dangerous tackles, one of which left Corluka on crutches after the Milan player jumped in two footed and only got a yellow card.
laser pointing totally out of order and really is a police matter.. I take it the match was away..?....I used to be a WAG...of sorts ..ex played for Eintracht..and witnessed lots of really bad behaviour both on and off the field all over Europe...things that would have been considered GBH on the street just seemed to be accepted in the name of sport ? Agree too much money involved.. encourages prima donna behaviour. UEFA need to hit both the player and the club hard financially ..seems to be the only thing that matters nowadays !
the insufficient punishment of Flamini for the tackle on Corluka was the ref's fault, he should be punished for that, I'm fed up of seeing players sent off for second yellows for taking their shirts off etc, when players aren't beeing sent off for leg breaking challenges.
As for the handbags, fine Gattuso but it was off the pitch so I don't think he should receive bans for that type of thing, it's supposed to be a man's game and I don't think for one second Joe Jordan would be the type to go whinging about it.

Yes it was an away match, only good thing to come out of it all was the fact that spurs won 1 - 0 so have an away goal advantage for the second leg.
I am more into Rugby so this sort of behaviour always makes me wonder what has happened to football/soccer, I have travelled around the world to watch Rugby following both club and country and have never seen the likes of it, more often than not rugby fans are mixed together in the stands and the biggest arguments you hear is when you are trying to work out whose round it is with one of the oppositions supporters.... Seems as though money is the root of all evil!!!
I watched it on the news this morning. Disgusting behaviour....In most other professions he'd be sacked. The same rule should apply to football.
Househubbie...so ..you are a rugger bu**er then ?..what do you think of the 6 nations so far ? We were well and truly trounced by the welsh last week !!! Don't mind that though it is always a pleasure when the Welsh come to Murrayfield..a real good atmosphere and great fun afterwards in the cities pubs etc..no trouble ever here with Rugby fans ..
...wrong shaped ball, wouldn't dirty my hands touching it.
As Jordan played for AC Milan in the 1980's I don't suppose many middle aged home fans thought much of it either!
I dont like to complain about referee's but he was terrible last night, the Milan players were getting away with a lot of bad tackles, from start to finish......
Italians always have been bad losers, Gattuso will hopefully get a sizeable UEFA ban, Joe Jordan did well restraining himself because he must have felt like chinning him
