Is the Koppite anthem ##"Steve Gerrard, he's big and he's fcuking hard"## an offensive chant?
Given that he's been charged and is due to appear in court for assault, is it not fair to say that this song is offensive?
If convicted will the song be scrapped?
There would be a hell of a fuss if a similar song was penned for Joey Barton.

A man who has been charged with assault is being lauded for being "big and hard", sauce for the goose I say.
As for Fowler, is that the same Fowler who snorted the touch line in front of his own fans (which I thought was quite funny) is it the self same Fowler who offered his bottom to Graham Le Saux?
I actually agree with Bob on this, chants against opposition players is nothing new (especially at derbys) so long as it's not racist etc. then they should all get on with it.

Maybe if it was a new song, since his arrest, then yes, maybe it could be deemed offensive, but the song is years old, so no, I don't think it is.

But we did'nt sing songs celebrating Big Dunc's ability to beat people (especially burglars) senseless.
It may be an old song but have not modern events rendered this ditty obsolete?
My personal opinion is that songs that are not overtly offensive (racist etc.) should be left alone.
The question was placed in the light of the news that the Police were going to eject fans for offensive songs, this idea opens up a huge can of worms and may actually be something of a poisoned chalice.....

Steve I'm happy to hear the song, it does'nt offend me.
BUT, if you're going to get fans thrown out of the ground for singing songs about an opposing player (without regard race etc.) then the same should be said for fans singing this song.
If he's convicted will you view this song as appropiate?
Will others share that view?
