I would say that it is people who live in leafy suburbs, who show the most concern over what is happening in inner-city areas, than the residents of those areas ever show themselves.

I think it is self-explanatory unless you willfully misunderstand what he is saying....
Seems Ms Dick is from the Khant school of head up jacksy

""London is a safe city by anybody’s standards. "

I'd say Mr Lawrence is far better suited to know what is going on than stick in the clouds Dick.
It's perfectly true that crime extends beyond Town and City centres, suburban and rural crime is there too.
I would say that there are more crimes committed away from city centres, barring crimes of violence.

Sure there is crime everywhere. London hasn't the monopoly for most crime but do you get almost one fatal stabbing per day in Bolton for example?
As a matter of interest it was Nottingham that was the city of choice for armed Robbery a few years back.
I don't have the figures for fatal stabbings in my town, we certainly aren't crime free - that much I do know.

I'm sure I haven't answered whatever the question posed is, nothing new there.
i am as concerned as the next person about the level of violence in London, its where i live and i hate what is happening these days.
Each Town has its problems but London due to being the capitol with huge numbers of immigrants with wildly differing cultures will inevitably suffer more than others.

Yes StAnnes in Nottingham was a real problem. It got sorted though by tough Policing and that is the question people are asking. When will Dick get hard on these scumbags?
Could of phrased that last sentence better ymb lol
Cressida Dick is doing what she can, but i say again, they should have a lot more coppers on the hotspots, in the capital. Even if it means patrolling on foot that would make them more visible.

I've often thought that the Dick woman lives up to her name.
cant find out stabbings or rate

Using Office for National Statistics figures for homicide - both murder and manslaughter - in each British constabulary area (Sept 2016 - Sept 2017), we can see that London has a rate of 1.45 homicides per 100,000 people. This is around the same as Leicestershire (1.5), West Yorkshire (1.45) and Derbyshire (1.6). There are plenty of places with a worse rate and some may surprise you.

( Manchester 2.44)
