Just given the dogs a quick run out, took my bike. It's colder out there now than when I got up in the wee small hours.

Bank Holiday or no Bank Holiday.....most of the other shops in the village were open, at least for a few hours. It wouldn't have hurt the Chemists to have opened for a couple of hours at least.
You're welcome WT. I'm pleased to see you're making progress. :o}
Well it may have Mikey, but one would think they have the pain relief in stock ;-/
mikey I'm not sure, but I think they are not allowed to open on bank holidays.

Heating, Lighting, Wages, Time off in lieu for anyone working, easier just to close.
Lol not keen at all, didn't want to waste the leave!
Can't argue with that WT! ;o}
Sorry...islay. I'll wake up about lunch time! :-/
And stuff sick people, they should have filled their scripts beforehand. ,-/

Over here there is always a chemist opened somewhere, just have to travel to find one.
There's usually a duty chemist here too oz, but it's not always nearby.
Boaty...I am not sure either, although I doubt that is true.

The difficulty with prolonged holiday periods like Xmas, is it can effectively prohibit people from having the valuable advice and service that Pharmacists provide these days. Its getting increasingly difficult to see your GP, and for many people, their local Chemist is a much valued resource.

If I could have bought a bag of nails ( or in my case, as new bath plug and chain ! ) a newspaper, a full grocery shop, armloads of booze and a full tank of diesel, it seems bizarre that I couldn't get some quite ordinary over-the-counter medicines.

I presume it will be the same this weekend as well.

But what happened to the Sunday Rota Chemists ? There always used to be a Chemist somewhere local, that opened for an hour on Sunday morning ?
Good morning Boaty and all, a really fine, dry, frosty morning here, a clear sky. Is this the LULL BEFORE THE STORM? but of car DIY to do today so it's going to be, frilly Knickers day, have a good one you lot.
They are usually published in the local paper mikey. The petrol stations here were closed too.
