Italy coming back into it now, question mark over their try but the pass looked lateral to me and they deserve to move to within 9 points of Wales.

We look a bit ragged and devoid of ideas at the moment. We always start slowly, I'm just glad it's Italy today and none of the others, who may well have stretched us a bit!

They convert and it's a 5 point game. It's gonna be fraught!

Phew, that was hard work! More of a Lions hangover than crest of a wave in the end. Fair do's to Italy, stuck at it for the full 80 and can take heart form such a performance, they'll carry that into their home games.
Wales have a lot to work on for next Saturday that's for sure, but a wins a win!

not bad at all, a few start-of-tournament nerves and apart from a few howlers pretty good defence on both sides. If it hadn't been for that try right at the start Wales would have struggled.

So, on to the Stade de France where hopefully we'll get a veritable feast of exciting rugby after that rather flat starter from the Millenium.
I want Gallic flair mixed with youthful English exuberance from their new bloods, certainly something a tad more inspiring than what we just saw.
