Watching the pennies, as I expect the a/halls to put up electricity bills. Petrol to go up and snow to be taxed by then.

Happy Christmas everyone !

Watching the pennies for me
My wife and I have no one to splash out on, so watching the pennies is - sort of - forced upon us. sigh
Same as usual mrsm, we don't scrimp but we don't go over the top either.
I will be giving my Family presents as usual but we have all decided not to give each other christmas cards as we will be seeing each other over the festive period and I will not be posting as many cards this year with the high cost of stamps. Will phone or e-mail as many as possible. Post Office too greedy.
I always set a limit on what I am going to spend and do not go over it, neither scrimping or splashing.
I stopped splashing out years ago. Nothing to do with money, just my intense dislike for Christmas.
Bah Humbug!

ED, can this be moved to the Christmas section (sub heading under Chatterbank) please?
I will splash out on my niece and nephew and the rest of the family set a limit on spending as there is 28 of us on Christmas Day. I make people edible gifts too.
The fact that I'm sick to death of xmas already should tell you all you need to know about my plans.
Even my kids don't like Christmas. Forced to stay in with their parents for a whole day!!
depends i am in Vegas for Christmas and getting most of my presents whilst we are out there - so it depends on the exchange rate.

just asking the question baldric...
Christmas should be cancelled.
no.
Mr McCawber coming in, unless it's my Xmas dinner and wine.
We do a savings club so will just spend what we normally spend, although this year the kids want for nothing and can't think of anything they might like so hopefully I'll end up spending less anyway.
