Just wishing the team all the best on day one of the First Test at Lords today and in particular young Jonny Bairstow, a very exciting prospect.
I'm sure his father would have been very proud.

Looks like the weather too will be playing its part though!

And no Zhukov, at the club they call me Phil, Sir (still can't get used to that) or Ref, depending on what capacity I'm attending for.

32-2, LBW for Jimmy as we go to the Shipping Forecast.

Where did the 'a' come from in my depth post?
Day off today so watching every ball. Agree about bairstow phil, i hope he does well and cements his place ahead of bopara. have seen plenty of this new windies side and they are improving all the time. Barath reminds me of a young lara which could be ominous. should be a good challenge before the south africans arrive.
^^^ bravo not barath.
Getting back to the cricket ....

... is anyone else as fostered off as me at the ever increasing size of the dratted 'info bar' at the bottom of the Sky picture?

It's now up to around 15% of the screen depth and (given that cricket is an 'up and down' game) it is like watching the game through a partially closed letterbox.

Why can't they make it a 'red button' option to display or hide the bar ?
Question Author
They are discussing that very subject now on TMS, doctordb.
Barath sounds a good prospect, be good to see the Windies return to resemble something of their former teams, they were a bit average last time they toured here.
Question Author
Can't comment sunny-dave, I have to rely on TMS.
Do Channel 5 still have a highlights programme on terrestrial TV?
7pm tonight Phil
Good point s-d, but i am missing the dancing ipl girls!

Question Author
Ta for the info sunny-dave.
Sir Geoffrey of Boycott at the mic now, my favourite pundit.
has he said 'corridor of uncertainty' or 'stick of rhubarb' yet?
Question Author
Ha ha no, corridor not mentioned yet, England bowlers not putting it there I guess?
Sir Geoffrey's Uncle Algie already featuring ...
Question Author
Boycs is joined by Aggers, usually great banter between them.
Geoff saying how pleased he was to give Bairstow his cap and mentioned how he played with his Dad, must have been very emotional.
Has the stick of rhubarb had a mention yet?
Question Author
Aggers just asked him about sticks of rhubarb!
Sounds like it's wall-to-wall Yorkshire men on TMS. Yaaayyyyyy
I remember this from 2010:-)http://www.flickr.com/photos/testmatch
