morning everyone, another day dawns, i hope you are well and that your day is a good one.
weather wise i hope its better than yesterday, after the soaking i got coming home from the hairdressers. I guess we shouldn't expect too much after all its Wimbledon fortnight.
Good luck to the England team tonight, i won't be watching, but hope they win.
I have no plans for the day, are you doing anything special?

washing on and an online shop later to sort out at 9am. Apart from that i might have a quiet day, had hoped a friend would contact me to meet up mid week but so far he hasn't.
perhaps the awful weather has put people off from going out, is summer going to emerge i wonder.
Good morning, Emmie.

I hope that the perm was worth all that money ;-)

According to Aunty Beeb, you should be able to enjoy some nice weather tomorrow, and on Friday, before the rain returns:

I might spend all day sleeping. (It was 6am to 8pm yesterday, excluding the usual feline interruptions!). But I might actually get up in time to visit the lady at the burger down down the road for a spot of lunch. (Wow! What a really exciting life I lead!). Other than that though, I've not got much planned.

at the moment the hairdo doesn't look great, i will have to wash it again to see if it looks any better afterwards. 100 quid this time, i will have to find a cheaper salon, that one you posted on looked good.

i dropped off to sleep very early and slept for a few hours, then finally came to around 4am, so had enough sleep for now, but if it all gets too much will have 40 winks. as to the weather, i hope you are right, as after the monsoon we had yesterday, i want some flipping sun..
Morning, Emmie. I got burnt on the beach yesterday - only a small patch I'd missed with the suncream. Must be careful today.

Little one has just been shouting in his sleep.

I'm nervously excited about the match tonight. Coming England.
C'mon England!!

morning Lcg
At least you've got some hair for a hairdresser to work with. I've got enough to mean that I need a few trips to this barber https://tinyurl.com/w87fw8pc each year but not enough for him to be able to do anything very adventurous with ;-)

He only charges about a tenner though (which, I know, is far less than the silly prices that barbers charge in central London), so I probably can't complain ;-)

are you one like my friend, who covers herself head to toe in factor 50, even when its just a little bit of sun, she asked me the other day when we had 10 minutes of sunshine, i kid you not, why i wasn't wearing sunscreen, lol
Good morning, LCG.

Question Author
i do put on sun cream when its hot, we need the sun don't we, to liven up our pasty skins and give us a shot of vitamin D, at least i do, i cant stand the milk white look i have in winter.
For most of my life, Emmie, I've never needed to use sunscreen. I take after my father. He could go out in the sun for 10 minutes and return with a lovely tan, which seemed to fully protect him from the sun's rays for the rest of the summer. He never used sunscreen in his life and never got sunburn.

These days I need to remember to use a little sunscreen on the top of my head (due to the aforementioned lack of hair in that area) and, strangely perhaps, on my elbows but otherwise I never burn, even if I spend all day in the sun in Spain or Italy.

i usually go a bit red then that turns to brown, i look better with a bit of colour in my face than not. i do love it when the sun shines, i can sit outside the local and have a soft drink or a couple of beers and actually think i am abroad. The place was a little sun trap, until they installed these plastic pods, now they have taken over a lot of the space where they had benches before.
Morning Chris :-)

Emmie, it was hot here yesterday. Windy too, but we had our wind breaker on the beach.

I haven't burnt in years, but I've a patch of very red, burnt skin from yesterday.
I like it when the sun shines too, Emmie, as long as it's not too humid. For example, a few years ago I took a short break in Madrid in August (when all the guide books tell you not to go because it's far too hot). The temperature there was a steady 38C and I absolutely loved it because it was totally dry heat. When I returned home, the UK was enduring a 'heatwave' (by our standards), with temperatures peaking at 28C each day. I hated it because it was far too humid for me.
I see the spammers are out again!

soon dealt with Lcg, - they are a pest i agree...
Chris, do you know if there are still direct flights from Riga to Baku? I think Air Baltic used to do them? I can't seem to get a clear answer on t'internet.
Question Author
i love the sun, can't get enough, but agree about the humidity here, its what had been keeping me awake.
