Possibly mere speculation of a 1974 author Mary M Luke in Gloriana: The Years of Elizabeth I - assumed and interpreted from a passage in an earlier biography (1957).

"She was a person of pure complexion, of the largest and goodliest stature of well-shaped women, with all limbs set and proportioned in the best sort, and one in whom in the sight of all men, nature cannot amend her shape in any part to make her more likely to conceive and bear children without peril."

Elizabeth's sex life remains a topic of considerable interest and debate today. In the Elizabethan period, the issue was a matter of constant gossip, not unlike now.

Although there is no evidence to this effect, England whispered about the possibility of Elizabeth having had ******* children. Yet her supposed celibacy, too, was equally gossiped about; rumours abounded that no one would marry her because she was infertile or had some sort of sexual deformity. However, the actual reasons for Elizabeth's continued single status were probably much more prosaic: it is hardly surprising that Elizabeth would have been afraid of marriage from a young age, since her father had killed many of his wives, including Elizabeth's mother, Ann Boleyn, who was beheaded when Elizabeth was not yet three. Likely it was the death of Catherine Howard, Elizabeth's stepmother, when the princess was eight, which scarred Elizabeth most greatly.

other scary things in E's life

There was an inquiry in E VI's reign
concerning whether Protector Somerset (I think) had had his evil way with her.
Yes according to her nanny/housekeeper at the time but she was threatened with torture, wh kinda makes you say yeah yeah whatever.

and the other, is that before her non-marriage with the Duc d'Anjou - my little Frog according to her - there were rumours that she could not bear chidlren (look at her sister) and so she was diplomatically forced to undergo an examination by crowd of govt worthies.
and they certified she could.
By Proctector Somerset, you are referring to Edward Seymour. It is well documented that he may have molested her in her early teens. Katherine Parr is said to have been very upset and angry with Elisabeth so as they say "there is no smoke without fire".
rumour was she had an affair with Thomas Seymour 4th husband to the dowager Queen katherine Parr.....also they may have been an affair with Robert Dudley
yep she had an affair with Robert Dudley Earl of Leicester, he (allegedly) kiled his wfe by throwing her down some stairs in order to marry Elizabeth 1
not to sure but i think Amy Dudley Roberts wife committed suicide by jumping off the top flight of stairs nothing has been proven as such rumours also had it she had breast cancer
Isn't the obvious answer to this since it was about 400 years ago how could we possibly know?
centuries of rumours, no documentary evidence whatever.
Ooops! Sorry I meant Thomas Seymour and not Edward!
If you believe a lot of speculation (which i'm afraid i do) She had a most satisfying sex life with Dudley and loved him dearly, yet she felt a stronger bond to her country and she would have nothing jeopardise her singular ruling of it. For in those days, as you probably well know, if Elizabeth had married, a vast amount of responsibility would have been laid at her husband's feet, not too mention the power that undenialbly went with the title, and Elizabeth was clearly more excited about her position than what went on in her bedroom!!
