I now have 29 photographs of.....Dave's feet as he walks around the bowls to make sure the camera triggers....one magpie....one pigeon...and four different cats..... :-(

I have special hog food arriving today....do cats eat this?..x

Have a word with Boaty, he's the hedgehog expert. Having lost Tiggy last year he now has a new inhabitant of Tiggy Towers
The hedgehog senses the enthusiasm, ignore him/ her they will return when it's quiet .
They feel a bit prickly about close human presence ;-)
The cats'll probably hog it.
Bound to be disappointed flashing all over the garden and got nothing to show for it.

I hope it does return....I do have homes around the garden for it...and apart from rescuing the frog I won't get too enthusiastic.....just listen quietly for the rustling and snuffling....

I won't get close enough to make it prickly......and yes....'tis disappointing when there is nothing to show for an evening of flashing around the garden... ;-)

Ooooooo, Mamya! I am so tempted.... :-)
I had a hedgehog here (for one night only, apparently) He settle down in some leaves under a bush for a sleep and I put a nice bowl of food down for him for when he awoke. He totally ignored it and toddled off, never to be seen again.

That's what I'm bothered about, 237.....I have waited so long for hogs in this garden.....and I now have £20 worth of hog food too.....

Still, at least I know they're around... :-)

Wow! they're better than my Fluffy Bunny ones ;o)
I found a young hedgehog in our garden as a child but he toddled off as well. My best friend lived about 150 m down the road and proudly announded that she had one living in her garden. I was convinced it was my hedgehog and one day when she and her family were out, I climbed over her wall and stole him. To this day, I`ve never told her that it was me who nicked her hedgehog. If yours doesn't come back, you could always donate the food to a local hedgehog sanctuary.

Hedgehog thief!!!... :-)

The food won't be wasted if it doesn't return......though I shall keep some by.
My daughter has hedgehogs galore in her garden.....and gets lovely photos with her night camera... :-(
Foxes like Hedgehog food!

No herds of wildebeest sneaking through your garden? I'd be disappointed, too :(

I have made a temporary feeding station from a woven plastic basket....bound entrance just big enough for the hog....food inside and water outside and a heavy piece of slate on the top......
Jolly well better return now!.... :-)
Have you made a proper feeding station.
You need four bricks and a paving slab. Just stops cats and foxes getting the food. Also crow's and magpies

Yes, Rowan...as above ....we posted together.

Just a makeshift one, though it looks fine and if it's a regular visitor I'll make a better one and site it well......xx
Would you have to lift the slab each time you needed to replenish the food? My back is aching just thinking of it.
