Ditto. Heard the news during the commentary on the Accy v Scunny game, but it was unconfirmed at that time.
Just seen the announcement on BBC site, a great footballer, he used to work as a plumber on Saturday morning and play for PNE in the afternoon!
Yeah my son has just told me, BT, haven't seen anything about it my self though.
RIP, Sir Tom.
Another good old boy gone. R.I.P.Tom
Yes RIP.Arguably a more complete footballer than Stanley Matthews as he could play anywhere in the forward line.
Not as good a football player as Tom Finney, but a Burnley legend all the same, Gordon 'Bomber' Harris died this week, aged 73. Bomber was a regular at the Turf from 1962 until sold to Sunderland in '68. He scored 81 goals in 313 appearances, which, back then, was pretty good going for a creative midfielder.

One of the greatest footballers England has produced, and all he got financially was £15 a week .....now today I read in the papers Rooney is to get £300,000 a week. Rooney is not, and never will be, anywhere as great as Sir Tom and a completely different character.
It's a funny old game.
