Switching it off?
Question Author
The tv has no 'off' button its unplug it or standby only
The remote doesn't have an OFF switch???
Stick something over it?
Dab of paint?
A plaster.
Black felt tip.
If the frame of your TV is Black, why not try a piece of electrician's tape over it?
ACtually, the one in my room is the same, off or standby. Luckily the light is not over bright.
Would it cause a problem to unplug it?

Just avoid anything that might cause problems if it gets too warm or block the signal.

How about a blob of bluetack or similar which is easy to get back off.

not bad judge but that would obscure the light alltogether and as it turns red for 'on' and blue for 'standby' I want to be able to see it, hence I only want to dim the light

jenna ...not a problem to unplug it but I (or mrsjan) would have to get up from a nice warm bed to plug it back in the next morning!!
Could you secure a little piece of dark coloured see through plastic over it so the light can come through but more dimmed and less colourful?
Ahh haha :) If you have anything like and old pair of redundant sunglasses you could maybe use one of the lenses or, if location allows, would placing the sunglasses in front of the light work?
Why do you need to see the light? Surely if there is a picture on the screen then it is on and if not it is off.
ours is the same, the last thing i want to do is get out of a nice warm bed to unplug just as i am getting sleepy ,if i knew how i would take the bulb out ,ours is a tecknics thats what we get for buying cheap tele i suppose
If you really can't find anything in the display settings, then how about selotaping something like a transparent coloured sweet wrapper over it?

It might turn it a different colour but it would be a more gentle light.
Black electrical tape (coz it peels off without leaving a mess).

Yes ... I've got tape over the stand by lights in my bedroom!
