Hatred is extremely strong dislike for, or intense hostillty towards other people.
Are those hated perceived as evil, or inferior, a threat of the cause of problems in the world today.

Perceived as seriously flawed. As indicated by their actions.
Probably beyond the point that society can simply accept/tolerate.
Just as a nutritional diet is vital to a person’s health, so the bread of life does wonders for a person's soul. Delighting in, and uplifting our fellow man with enlightenment is readily attainable as we Receive God's Word with meekness (James 1:21), Retain it with conviction (Titus 1:9), and Release it with boldness (Philippians 2:16). In a letter to the Corinthians, Paul pointed out that their insufficient intake of the Word had brought about spiritual anemia. I Corinthians 3:3 “For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?” Rather than relying on sense-knowledge thinking and accomplishments, we can rely on spiritual knowledge to see the power of God in evidence in our lives. James 3:17 “…the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.” Let's allow the joy of a healthy living plan be the impression we leave for others. Jeremiah 15:16 “Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.”

PsalmEquipt@Nice to see you know your Bible. However, if people did apply the principles the world would be a better place. But of course they do not! They say the Bible is out of date and has no use in modern society. Yet at Jeremiah 10:23; "it does not belong to man to direct his steps" shows that man's independence from God's rule is why the world is in the mess it is. So it is good to know he is going to do something about it and that is partly why the bible was written but before he does anything he always forwarns his people. As in Mark 13:10 and what good news that is for those that want it.
To me it often seems it the religious zealots that project most of the hatred.
goodlife - you do spout a load of poppycock.
People tend to cycle through hatred because it gives them a sense of power and control. It can also be a way to distract themselves from their own problems, or it can be a way to express their anger in a socially acceptable way.

Hatred is also contagious. When we see someone being hateful, it often triggers something in us that causes us to become hateful as well. This is one of the reasons why online hate speech is so dangerous - it can easily spiral out of control and incite violence.

When a child may do many hateful acts, but the parent still loves his child. He hates the wrong acts, but not his child, and he works for its recovery by disciplining it. Jehovah God follows this course also. He does it where there is hope for saving the sinful person. He knows that in so many cases it is fleshly weakness that plunges the person into wrongdoing, that it is not really what the person himself desires. Paul showed this aversion to sins he himself committed: “For what I wish, this I do not practice; but what I hate is what I do. But now the one working it out is no longer I, but sin that resides in me. For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, there resides nothing good; for ability to wish is present with me, but ability to work out what is right is not present. For the good that I wish I do not do, but the bad that I do not wish is what I practice. If, now, what I do not wish is what I do, the one working it out is no longer I, but the sin dwelling in me.” Many wrongs people commit are because of weakness, of environment, of past circumstances in an unfortunate childhood, and do not express the true person within at all. Some wrongs are committed in ignorance, and on coming to knowledge the wrongdoer may possibly repent.—Prov. 3:12; Rom. 7:15, 17-20.
Goodlife, //When a child may do many hateful acts, but the parent still loves his child. He hates the wrong acts, but not his child, and he works for its recovery by disciplining it. Jehovah God follows this course also.//

No he doesn't. He's the worst example of parenthood ever. If his child doesn't conform, that child ends up dead. Some loving parent. I don’t know any parent who would even think of behaving in such a manner - and I don’t want to.

Well, there's millions that will disagree with you Naomi. You have never drawn close to God. You've never really in your heart, approached him. James 4 v 8 and sad to say you don't really know your Bible. Along with all the other millions that don't.
We get by goodlife, but thanks for the 'insight'.
Goodlife, //Well, there's millions that will disagree with you Naomi. //

That's because they've never thought about the irrationality of what they're saying. To claim that God is a good and loving father is simply barmy. No good father condemns his children to death.
If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father, mother, wife, children, brothers, and sisters, as well as his own life, he can't be my disciple.

In the Bible, the term “hate” has several shades of meaning. It may denote a feeling of hostility that is motivated by malice, prompting someone to harm others. Or it may refer to an intense feeling of dislike for or strong aversion to someone or something, thus causing a person to avoid having anything to do with that person or thing. Or the term may simply mean to love to a lesser degree. For example, when Jacob is said to have “hated” Leah and loved Rachel, the meaning is that he loved Leah less than he loved Rachel (Ge 29:31, ftn.; De 21:15, ftn.), and the term is used in this sense in other ancient Jewish literature. Therefore, Jesus did not mean that his followers were to feel hostility or loathing toward their families and toward themselves, as this would contradict the rest of the Bible. ( And for some homework you can compare. Compare Mr 12:29-31; Eph 5:28, 29, 33.) In this context, the term “hate” could be rendered “love to a lesser degree.”
