New testament writers did not set out to write authoritative texts - must read for everyone ( Naomi excused of course)
NT where did it come from: where did it go to?
very modern ( Paul didnt write some of Paul: he wrote other things which didnt make it. Rather obvious that: laundry lists etc)
John letters doesnt equal John evangelist)
Mt and Luke knew of Mk ( his gospel silly!) but didnt think of it as the immutable word of God because they changed it....
makes a change from the unutterable crap you sometimes read on AB

Why doesn't the bible talk sensibly instead of talking in metaphors and parables? Scientists don't talk in metaphors and parables. Doctors and airline pilots don't talk in metaphors and parables. Who does talk in metaphors and parables, apart from holy books? Would you believe anything I said that was metaphors and parables? or would you accuse me of being wrong in my interpretation of said metaphors and parables?
I'd love to hear a straight, non metaphor and parable, response from you. I'm not holding my breath.

True, but that is because they are not dealing with metaphysics - well not in their day jobs anyway - but they may be capable of dealing with the less tangible & more spiritual aspects of existence when they leave the laboratory, when the plane has landed & the last patient has been dealt with.
