The only sound I hear is that of tumbleweed blowing around. This post sat here for over a week before anyone responded - and then the responses don’t relate to the subject matter. I suspect you’re disappointed that knives aren’t being sharpened, Theland. That would make you, in your own mind, a martyr to the cause - again. Perhaps next time, eh?

But you know, the whole martyr thing is so interesting.
Some like Solzhenitzin (?) are survivors, and maintain their humanity throughout their ordeal, even learning from it and passing on their knowledge.
Saransky was another, and as we speak, more are being forged in the gaols of Russia, Belorussia, China to name just s few.
Martyrdom is preceded usually by penury, and I'm ashamed to say I'm built for comfort:-)

I must salute and remember Richard Wurmbrandt, a Romanian pastor who spent fourteen years in gaol for his faith.
In fact the word gaol is a gross overstatement of the conditions in which he was held.
Highly intelligent, I suspect a master of logic and reason, yet sustained only by his faith.
Yet the naturalist materialist worldview would suggest man has no spirit, just conscious material.

No worries. I'm not suffering from any delusions or faithful expectations of reason paying out much if any dividends within the hallowed halls of R&S.
I visit here on occasion to witness the consequences of one lapse of reason in favour of a preferred belief, at what cost one sacrifices reason and the desire for a better understanding to fear of the unknown.
It is one thing to entertain a visit to the land of make believe and quite another to make it your permanent home.

2) Life from non life.
3) The problems with evolution.
We can only turn to those who have studied these things all of their lives.

naomi. you never cease asking for 'facts' & if non to your satisfaction are forthcoming you, assume there can be no underlying truth, but theological truth combines historic fact with unassailable moral principle & a journey of imagination beyond the reach of experience. It cannot be called untrue - only unproven, so why not adopt a more agnostic standpoint & say, "There probably is no God" ?

I didn’t introduce the subject of ‘facts’, Khandro,. Theland did. If he claims to be in possession of ‘facts’ it’s perfectly reasonable for the reader to request some evidence of them. No?

When did I say otherwise? That said, until evidence is forthcoming I have to assume that none exists. Same with fairies.

Actually, I have to take issue with that too. In order to ‘prove’ anything one needs to examine and verify the available evidence. Again, I’ve seen none. Therefore to assume ‘evidence’ exists is just that - an assumption. It has no foundation in reason.
