Quite aside from anything else, you are still setting far too much store by the people who are speaking, and far too little by what they are actually saying. Evaluate the evidence for yourself, if you can -- what one PhD says, or a Professor, or even a Nobel Laureate or two, means nothing. They may be right or they may be wrong, but who they are is irrelevant to that....

Naomi - @10:37 - Without me getting into it too deeply whilst I am discussing evolution, as a matter of interest, what kind of evidence for creation would you accept?
Something ... anything.
//what kind of evidence for creation would you accept?//
Before naomi, myself or anyone else asks for creation evidence, we really would need to know what king of creationism you adhere to as there is no concensus among creationists. For instance are you a young Earther or old Earther, Was the universe literally created in 6 days or is 6 days a metaphor for billions of years. Was there a literal Garden of Eden with fully formed Homo Sapiens inhabiting it.

Evolutionary science is fairly consistent with what it says. Creationist cannot agree with each other even on the basics such as how old the earth is, 6 thousand years?, a few million?, Billions?
Question Author
Naomi - OK.
Some of the evidence is concrete, substantive, other is less so but as far as I'm concerned nonetheless convincing.
First, I believe God created the universe.
A first and necessary uncaused cause.
Science has tried and failed to negate this.
Second, I believe God created life. Science has tried and failed to recreate life, and sometimes thinks it has come close, but it has failed.
Third, Darwinism is a total failure as far as I'm concerned. God made, "Kinds," and this has never been disproved.
More to come.
Theland, I know what you 'believe'. Where's your evidence to support it?
Question Author
Nailit - Interesting points, and well observed.
However, the bible and theology are not my area of expertise apart from the essential message of hope and salvation in Jesus Christ and understanding His glorious message.
All of the rest is simply noise.
^He's ducked it ... again.
//Nailit - Interesting points, and well observed//
And notably dodged as simply noise?
Question Author
As a start, eliminate every other attempt by science to provide an explanation.
What are you left with?
God, a first uncaused cause.
Cross posted naomi, but yes, ducked it again...
And he's still ducking it, nailit. The same old thing. He doesn't know how it happened so the wonky logic of a god for which there is no evidence whatsoever must have done it. We've all been here before. Round and round and round again.
Theland, what type of creationism are you advocating? It really would help if we knew where you were coming from.
Question Author
What have I ducked?
Is salvation dependent on pleasing answers to fellow ABers, who are now beginning to enjoy the prospect of, "Winning?"
There is no win or lose here, it's accept or reject.
I am not tying to convert you, your future is in your own hands.

But we are not talking about salvation, we are talking about evolution/creationism.
Theland, how can a first caused be uncaused? You are the first to suggest that everything has a first cause, but that all falls apart by your claim that God simply has always existed.

I am not a scientist, clearly. But even within our own lifetimes, we have all seen evolution in action. Antibiotics have become less and less effective, because bacteria mutate so that they can survive a "hostile environment". Basically, innoculating themselves and mutating around it. That has happened fast and we all know that. Why do you think that no other living organisms can do similar?
Question Author
This was a thread to discuss the pros and cons of the evolutionary science, but you have once again turned it into something else, a cheap shot show.
Turn it around. What do YOU know?
On what do you pin your hopes? Anything?
Theland .... you start with evolution and end up prattling on about salvation. You initiate thread after thread on the same subject but you never offer any rational answers. Unless you're willing to have an intelligent conversation and answer valid questions do us all a favour - keep your salvation to yourself and put a sock in it. It's becoming really tedious now.
Question Author
Wow! Getting swamped here.
Give me time.
Pixie - You are describing micro evolution. No pre elm with that.
My problem is with macro evolution.
What's the difference, theland? And why do you need time? If you are as sure in your claims as you assert... you already know the answers.
Question Author
Naomi - Those remarks are totally unnecessary.
If my posts trigger this reaction in you time and time again, do us both a favour and ignore me. It must be easy to do.
