NASA has just released images of a black hole located in a distant galaxy.

It measures 40 billion km across - three million times the size of the Earth - and has been described by scientists as "a monster". The black hole is 500 MILLION TRILLION km away.

Logically, do those enormous distances not encourage the creationist fraternity to wonder if they’re mistaken? Do they not ask why, from this whole unimaginably vast universe, a creator God would have selected this minute speck of dust located somewhere near the outer reaches of a fairly minor galaxy – just one of an estimated 2000 billion galaxies each containing billions of stars – as home to his beloved(?) creation – man?

Personally, I cannot believe we’re that special. What say you?

Theland, I have examined the evidence - rather more than you have - and this isn't about me.
I think the evidence went over your head.
Can you think of any claim that suggests the Bible is supernaturally inspired, and then argue it to pieces?
You have not done that, but are more interested in self promotion and shooting down others. Sad really.
Question Author
Theland, I'll say again this isn't about me. If there's a claim you'd like me to look at, I'm happy to do that.
I presume you must have come across examples of proof of supernatural inspiration in the past?
You,pick one and explain why it is wrong.

Bed now. Speak tomorrow.
Question Author
It was your suggestion, Theland, so I can only presume you can’t think of an example. Perhaps if you sleep on it?

Night night.
" That's too certain and authoritative for me to swallow.
You sit in pedantic judgement again without ever examining the evidence."
Naomi stating you don't and cannot know is neither pedantic or judgemental, it is simply stating a fact which you refuse to accept.
After all that, I believe in Dark Matter! :o) Nowt else.
Question Author
Thank you Vulcan.
Yes I can think of examples, but you are so certain it is all codswallop, you surely must have one or two examples in mind that you could state and then shoot down in flames, without a clue from me.
Question Author
Theland, tell me what you want shot down in flames and I'll do my best to oblige.
How about maths and science hidden in the bible?
Not there due to cooperative conspiracy from Rabbis, but discovered.
What I would like you to do, is abandon your default bias, and approach the whole subject with an open mind, and a preparedness to accept the possibility of God based purely on the evidence.
If you look carefully at the bible, you can find that Geoff Boycott made a century against Australia in an Ashes Test Match. And it contains the name of a Scottish Football Club. But it's still Dark Matter for me! If it matters!
Wow! That was helpful.
Would you guide me to the Boycott bit?
U-S-E T-H-E W-O-R-D-S, Theland.
U-S-E T-H-E W-O-R-D-S!! :o)
All these attempts at humour are, (a) Not humorous, and, (b) Totally unhelpful.
Well, you gotta laugh, dontcha? Anyone who refers to the bible for anything, has gotta be joking, right? :o)
^^ //Anyone who refers to the bible for anything, has gotta be joking, right? //

Not entirely;

Proverbs 26:4

Theland, //What I would like you to do,…//

What YOU would like me to do? Get over yourself, Theland!

//… approach the whole subject with an open mind, and a preparedness to accept the possibility of God based purely on the evidence.//

I’ve done that – and found your God, as an omniscient, omnipotent entity, greatly wanting. Take a look. It's all there.

Khandro, you can’t even tell those who disagree with you that they’re fools without relying upon someone else’s words. I’ll ask again. Do you ever have an original thought?
If god created the earth and made man in his own image...why did it take him billions of years to come up with the idea?
