jim; //I claim that this premise is false. The reason is quite simple, in one sense: the amino acids are not the same as the cards, because they actually *do* interact with each other.//

Try telling a man holding a royal flush that his cards don't interact :o)
Theland, a simple question. If God can simply exist without any cause, why can't the universe do the same? Why bring in an extra mystery on top of the one we already have?
I don't believe it can.
T. I do believe it can. In fact it does. We know the universe exists, but we don't know that god does.
God = First Cause.
//God = First Cause//
Which God out of the thousands ever conceived though?
Are you getting your list out again?
//Are you getting your list out again?//
Nay Nay and thrice Nay Theland...just asking a question which you reply too with another question rather than an actual answer!
OK then. The real one. The first one.
Theland - // OK then. The real one. The first one. //

The concept of any 'god' being 'the real one' depends entirely on the expectations of the believer.

As for your god being 'the first one' - I think a few primeval individuals who worshipped the sun / moon / trees / rivers … ctd. page 97 - may take issue with you there.
Yes but I am not primaevil.
Theland. How do you know that the first cause (if there was one) equates to your god? It might have been an amoral uncaring entity; or perhaps a wicked one. I think your god is a reflection of your hopes and dreams.
Atheist - Not at all. Maybe having no God is a reflection of YOUR hopes and dreams.
Theland. You think that the first cause is god?
Indeed I do. The Uncaused Cause.
Theland, are you available for a logical discussion?
Th. The first cause is what you call god. How do you know the properties of this god?
//Theland, are you available for a logical discussion? //

Doubt it somehow. He might point you to a You-Tube vid or two though. He's good at that!

Atheist - Yes I am. Put up a new thread.
As you can see from Nailits post, I seem to arouse a lot of anger which translates into insult and mockery.
Yes put up a new thread.
