Following on from the thread in "News", it is a fact that the book of Revelation in the Bible accurately predicts this end time scenario.
Climate change, pollution, earthquakes increasing in frequency and intensity, the list goes on and on.
Stacy Dooley did a documentary on the fact that after fossil fuels, fashion is the second biggest polluter of the planet.
You may dismiss the Bible because you don't believe in God, because you can't find proof that the Bible is true.
But here is just one proof.
It made a prediction, and the prediction is being played out in front of us right now.

There's no evidence that earthquakes are increasing in frequency and intensity, and, no matter how you might try to spin it, the Bible does not predict an increase in CO2 emissions owing to human activity that drives a notable increase in average temperature.

But, yeah, sure, apart from that...

Revelation gives us a picture of exactly what the scientists are afraid of.
It's happening now, that cannot be denied.
Yes it can; I just denied it :P

No, but, seriously... what are you on about? With respect to earthquakes, there has been at best a statistical spike in recent years but that's to be expected from essentially random events. Any other apparent increase could be attributed quite reasonably to better detection rate.

It's nonsense, there's no other word for it. Utter nonsense.
The Book Of Revelation seems to be getting a lot of attention tonight!

Jim's last line is worth repeating though:
It's nonsense, there's no other word for it. Utter nonsense.
One thing Revelations is for sure is an absolute gift to those who love interpretation - futurists in particular.

That is not me mocking, just stating a fact.
Which part of Revelation are you on about?
//It made a prediction, and the prediction is being played out in front of us right now.//
Spot on. On my way home from the pub last night, I'm sure I spotted 7 headed dragon.
Well if it is the end of days then we will all be dead and won't have to listen to a load of smug Christians going we told you so.
no we won;t,
//the Bible accurately predicts this end time scenario//
Climate change? Chapter and verse please.
Pollution? Chapter and verse please.

//the list goes on and on//
No it doesn't. You're making it up as you go along.
We are all born to die.
> after fossil fuels, fashion is the second biggest polluter on the planet.

Thanks for that. I’m not sure how it’s relevant to your argument, but seeing such a mention of fossils in a thread about the Bible is entertaining at least.
It states in the book of Revelation that fashion will destroy the world ?! Well: one learns something every day.
And it came to pass that the worshippers of Pri-mark and Matal An caused the lord to rain down plagues of boils, crabs, lice and sweat rashes.

Or so it seemed the last time I was in.
what a load of old pony!
Theland, I haven't seen the documentary but have read her articles on this subject. She doesn't say fashion is the second biggest polluter in the world but according to her it is in the top five. OK that isn't good if true but it doesn't agree with one of your "facts".
She also admits she belongs to the group who buy the latest fashion just to stay fashionable and states she won't be changing. Hardly a suitable attitude from somebody who is apparently "concerned".

Feeling worn down.
did the bible writers have climatologists, and what part of the flat earth were they referring to, when armageddon is suppose to happen
as for the horsemen of the apocalypse mmm few trained marksmen with barrett M82's unless of course they are t1000's from terminator 2
im nervous..really
I'm not surprised you're feeling worn down Theland - what puzzles me is why you continue to post in Religion and Spirituality? Doubt if there are many Christians on the site and you will be shouted down and ridiculed at every opportunity. However, I do admire your tenacity.
//However, I do admire your tenacity//
So do I, I'll give him that.
// you will be shouted down and ridiculed at every opportunity//
He's not ridiculed, He's questioned about his beliefs and why he holds them. Why religious people have to start crying 'persecution' because they are questioned then I (as an atheist) can do the same when religionists as me why I dont believe in God. But I dont. Debate is not ridicule or persecution.
