Islam - The Price Of Apostasy
29 Answers
Simple question. To all those who genuinely believe that Islam is a religion of peace, can anyone tell me of another faith that prescribes the death penalty to those who leave it?
A few references for those who doubt the veracity of the death penalty for apostasy: Koran [9:11-12]; Sahih Bukhari [84:57] – other verses are available on request.

and they started almost immediately burning Lollards
By god this priest wants to fry ! was on the lips of one of Henry VIII ministers faced with a reformer ( in chains )
no not Mary Tudor (*)

but other than that only the muslims
and 'kufr' is probably best translated "apostate" (**) - someone who was a pagan converts and then lapses back. As in Julian the Apostate. rather than heretic. Christians are referred to as ahl el kitab ( tribe of the book ) and have protected status along with Jews (kitab in this case obviously mean the book that is the Bible)
(**) ABers chorus: "Julian the wod-estate?" mixed wiv "Julian the who-estate ?" n a smattering of " I fought Jools Holland was christian"
