The daughter in Devon has decided to get broadband. After some research she phoned Talk Talk to discuss her options.
Why are you phoning....asked the TalkTalk girl....look online.
I just wanted to discuss it with a person....said the daughter.
You've seen our prices...said the girl....you've just phoned hoping it'll get you a discount. Look online.
End of discussion.
TalkTalk then started calling her....she didn't pick up until she had made up her mind to go with them.
So....said the TalkTalk girl.....can I ask who you are with at present.
No-one...said the D......I don't have broadband yet.
Ahh...I see....Bye....said the TalkTalk girl and she hung up.
So...we are both puzzled....any ideas why she wouldn't want to discuss it with the daughter...why she would hang up....and any recommendations please... not BflippingT.....
Gx
Were they really so abrupt / rude. If so I wouldn't entertain going with them. Imagine if you had to complain. It would be like having to deal with .....erm.....BT?
They were, Zacs.....much to her surprise....is there a reason they don't want you if you're not an existing customer with another provider?
Her point exactly for deciding not to go with them now....she is looking at John Lewis....I suggested Tesco but it's not in her area and BT are now at the bottom of the list...☺
Perhaps the sales staff only get their commission payments when they successfully 'poach' a customer from another BB provider? Or it's what the call centre manager's annual bonus hinges on?
I'm left wondering if there is some infrastructure cost of setting up customers starting from zero BB?
p.s. Testing the customer service centre response time is well worth doing before signing up to any utility or subscription based service.
I've never had much of an opinion of TalkTalk in the first place - but why are BT at the bottom of the pile? Our BT Infinity broadband is excellent, I wouldn't dream of changing it!
Its like credit rating ,I don't owe any one anything ,so no body wants to know me . If your daughter is with no one then they will not be able check up on her .She will get sorted there is plenty of other BB providers out there.
Marval.....you're the second person to give PlusNet a good review to me tonight...thanks...I will tell her.
Boxy...it's the honest customer service that is mattering now. BT say they knew nothing of email problems til Saturday night when their American...forget the name....taking over people told them....that is not true.
When I reported it they said it was my equipment and if you look on forums it's been a problem for a long time....but they have refused to be open about it.
