No matter what you do, you are never going to be popular with everyone. People who enjoy ridiculing others will always do so. (Proverbs 18:24)

You've asked a question about the bible, but your blurb has no bearing on the question. What exactly are you asking - or are you just preaching again?
I think most people understand the Bible, they just dont like much that is written in it and they dont agree with your interpretation of it.

So you think the JW,s are the only people that understand the Bible?
President Truman - didnt he say you can fool some of the people all of the time but....

he didnt write this section of Proverbs did he ? or did you ?
Naomi striked the nail on the head:

Proverbs 18:24
King James Version (KJV)
24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

and Good LIfe (again) it is questionable whether your blurb is relevant to the quote.

so... yes The Bible looks unknown to you GL
I think it was Abe Lincoln who said it.
# strikes ~ or struck
I don't understand why you say it's an unknown book. There must be millions of people who
know of it. Probably billions of people, actually
Yeah, I liked Lincoln's

Mrs Lincoln I will put you back in the mad house if you go on like this

Mrs Lincoln - jabba jabba jabba

and back she goes ! after the film - Tad puts her away apparently
The bible is a load of tosh and, as fairy tales go, doesn't exactly capture the imagination in the way some of the other fairy tale books do.
You are right Tilly, The Bible is the most known book on the planet for sure!! Well apart from "50 Shades of Grey"
if its an unknown book, why do so many follow its words, some almost to the letter.

If you were interested in making friends with someone you have met, you might want to ask yourself, ‘Who are his friends?’ The type of close associates someone has tells much about the person himself. Also, what opinion do “mature” and respectable people in the community have of him?

It is not wise to consider not only how potential friends treat us but also how they treat others, particularly those from whom they have nothing to gain.

Yes unless a person displays good qualities—such as honesty, integrity, patience, and consideration—at all times and to all people, what guarantee is there that he will always treat you well.
OK, so there is no question - you intend to preach - as usual.
LOL, goodlife, and I bet you are the most popular person in your town lol
You sheep followers no brains to think for your selves
So, Goodlife....are you saying we should only befriend those who are held in high esteem by the mature and respectable people in the community?

I can't recall that that is what your Jesus did or taught others to do.

Didn't the mature and respected walk by the man in need until the Good Samaritan came along?
gness, he only hobnobs with the best. ;o)
Thank you GL
we look forward to more C and P later....
Ahh...I see, Naomi.....You know Goodlife better than I. I thought he followed the teachings of Christ.....my mistake.

This atheist believes in making up her own mind about people and giving those who may not be "the best" a chance...or an ear at least.

Looks like I'd make a lousy Christian then.....
Goodlife....a question for you.....Why did Jesus befriend Judas?
