Patrick Murphy went for a job interview at his local police station, having applied to become a police officer.

Seeing that Patrick was nervous during the interview, the kindly sergeant decides to try to put him at ease by asking him a simple question.

‘Now, Mr. Murphy – can you tell me who killed Jesus Christ?’ he asked.
Patrick continued to look worried, and before he was able to answer, the sergeant suggested he go to the canteen, get himself a cup of tea and relax for 15 minutes or so.

Patrick went off to the canteen to get a cup of tea, where he bumped into his mate Sean – a serving police officer who knew Patrick was attending a job interview at the station.

‘So tell me, how is it going?’ Sean asked.

‘Great,’ replied Patrick. ‘I’m on my first case already.’
