How will you feel when you find out that there really is a God and that you have spent your life mocking him?
I know of many athiests who have spent most of their life disbelieving, and then finding out they were wrong.
What will you do?

Still, it's a fair question: how would you feel if you found you'd got something fundementally wrong in your life? The answer is: I don't know.

Perhaps you could give us some examples of how these people discovered they were wrong. I may be an Atheist but I always keep an open mind.........

One thing is certain: God, whatever you call him/her; Jesus, Abraham, Buddha, Mohammad; has a lot to answer for. Millions have been murdered in his/her name. That's politics for you.

Now this is the point isn't it if your right you would be able to say "told you so" where as we never will be able to.

However as you follow but one god how do you know you are following the right one? Suppose you should be a catholic they say they are the only ones to be let into heaven or Muslim dead trouble if Allah's not your choice. So being smug isn't going to help you is it.

You choice of god was dictated, probably, by your parents as you grew up you discounted other dieties in your life Father Christmas, the tooth fairy, the bogeyman all of whom existed in your life on faith but you have no more proof that god exists than you do the others.

Jno. Obviously they found out before death. For those dead, well they will find out in the resurrection. Which, contrary to what many believe and the churches teach: will not be in Heaven but on earth.
Gollysailor: I quite agree with you. Religion has caused many wars. Not God. God is impartial so regardless of what side you are on, no matter how many priests and religious leaders pray for God to be with their army, he is not. Also, Jesus told his followers they were no part of the world, therefore politics and religion should not mix. At the end of the day, Greed and nationalism are the main reason religion is involved in war.
Davethedog. Not everyone follows the religion of their birth. I chose to change. I looked into various ones and it is the one that follows the Bible, not a man that I decided to belong. Plus I do have proof he exists. But you won’t accept it anyway.
