Ok it's an old one but almost every line resonates with me. I know you're getting old when you have a go at "modern kids" but have we ourselves created their cosseted lives out of some misplaced idea of protection?

PS is it just me or is that holiday smiley giving that pole a ***?
Anecdotal evidence on this topic is inevitably biased toward the idea that kids didn't need protecting.

Those of who grew up in those glorious days of freedom and risk can all tell stories of survival. However the stories of our childhood peers who were not so lucky are absent because they are not hear to tell them.
