Boris Johnson has cut funding for "Black History Month" from £132,000 to £10,000, "Africa Day's" £100,000 grant from the London Development Agency was axed completely

/// Simon Woolley, director of Operation Black Vote, and recently appointed race commissioner at the Equality and Human Rights Commission, said the decision to cut Black History Month funding was symptomatic of Johnson's failure to "effectively re-engage" with London's black organisations.///

Why do we continue to fund these miscellaneous Black events/organisations at all?

Black History Month
Africa Day
Operation Black Vote
Etc, Etc, Etc.

Are we not continuously told that we are all equal, when blacks continue to class us apart just because of the colour of one's skin?

Its the usual, if you are midlle aged white man forget anything.

The underlying problem is multicultursm rather than integration.

Personally I believe all such events, no matter what race or creed should be funded by the participants. And this includes the policing of any such event.
i suppose in the current climate, all future budgets will be cut. this is no different.
You are right AOG we are continuously told we are all equal but nothing could be further from the truth. We are unequal from the day we are born , male-female, clever-stupid, fat-thin, short-tall, healthy-unhealthy, light skin-dark-skin, rich-poor, lucky-unlucky. That's life !
I quite dissapointed that Johnson has cut funding for the bald, slightly overweight, early 40s, beer drinkers month that I had proposed.
Yes, we ARE constantly being told we're all equal, but unfortunately, there are still quite a few bigots who shout very loudly that we're not.

We need events like this to drown them out every once in a while.
As Mr Orwell wrote – We are all equal, but some are more equal than others.
That reminds me , when are those MOBO's awards

I'm sure you'll post nearer the time , AOG so as we dont forget
We will only be equal when they remove the chip from their shoulder
And why do disabled people get special parking bays outside supermarkets? What about the rest of us?

AOG doesn't have a chip on his shoulder - he just likes to post questions about race and immigration...every...single...day.

Every single day????

Yet another vastly over exaggeration by the likes of sp1814.

Isn't this rather "Bigoted"? Or don't "Bigots" come in Black?

Incidentally I believe Elvis was referring to you.
should have slashed it to ZERO, they can take a hike and take their history with them
Good for Boris - we dont want to stir the 'apologise for slavery' brigade and cause more dissent in UK.

Give the savings to pensioners (of all colors & creeds).
