For sqad - Room 101 is a place introduced in the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell. It is a torture chamber in the Ministry of Love in which the Party attempts to subject a prisoner to his or her own worst nightmare, fear or phobia.
It's what men do (and some mucky women) who gather all the phlegm from the back of their throat in one awful snotty throaty sound, then spit it out - usually on the pavement where it sits and wobbles in one big (usually yellow) gob on the street. for little old ladies & toddlers to tread in.
If they're really polite however, they will make the sound & do the action, but then swallow it. But that's only if they're in posh company.....
