It's the room in the novel 1984 where all the bad things go. Also A tv show where guests put their pet hates in.

It's what men do (and some mucky women) who gather all the phlegm from the back of their throat in one awful snotty throaty sound, then spit it out - usually on the pavement where it sits and wobbles in one big (usually yellow) gob on the street. for little old ladies & toddlers to tread in.

If they're really polite however, they will make the sound & do the action, but then swallow it. But that's only if they're in posh company.....
