There seems to be a worldwide belief among world leaders that the world is getting warmer and that the reason for this is man made. Do you agree with this theory or do you think it is just a natural process of a living planet? Yes or no answers are fine, yes being agreeing with the heading but feel free to expand on your answer.

Yes, it is the $64,000 question - but I can't see us changing our ways too much, and however clever we may think we are, we can't fight nature indefinitely.

I'm very worried about the medium term.

I used to work on nuclear fusion experiments and I know that that has the potential to be a major part of the solution - but the first ones are about 30-40 years away.

There are other smaller scale technologies but the time to ramp up to them is significant and I don't see enough real commitment to invest in them.

This affects developing countries most because of where so many of them are - I foresee massive environmental refugee problems in the next 30 years as Africans and Indians try to get into Europe as their agriculture fails and I'm talking about many times the numbers we have today.

Probably terrorism and wars over water, oil and resources held to ransom

We'll probably start to take serious action in about 20 years when this sort of thing starts to really affect us

This isn't the sort of crisis that is going to wipe out humanity - it won't make us extinct - but it is going to be very very ugly indeed
