Hi,

I'm an Architect from Ireland. I'd consider myself to have good experince (6 years) a reasonablly impressive CV and have attended very good institutions in Ireland, Scotland and Sweden for my eduaction.

I'd like to work in the US, particularly New York.

I usually send off my CV with cover letter and 8 times out of 10 , in the Uk and Ireland at least., I receive a reply. in the instances I've sent this to NY i never hear a thing, which is making me lose hope.

I 'm sure competition is fierce but I was told European qualificatoins/experience was looked upon favourably.

Anyway has anyone any pointers as to how best get into an office - should I follow up with a call? Some offices, won't even accept calls relating to vacancies!

Does the US job application procedure , differ from the UK/Irish.

Many thanks for any advice,
