I watched it.
It didn't tell me anything I didn't already know.

so you agree about the standings of all the different types of drugs?
No I don't agree with all they said. For example, it was said that people who take LSD and think they can fly out of windows is just a myth from the 60's. I know 2 people who DID jump - one died and one was seriously crippled.
I think the cannabis issue was all wrong. There is a world of difference between the original weed and the skunk that's available nowadays.
I was surprised that khat was at the bottom of the list as being near harmless. In African countries they give it to child soldiers to turn them into psychotic killers.
Question Author
but you agree in the main with the placing of alcohol in comparison to all those others?
Hmm...probably.
I thought that nicotine would have been no. 1.
What are your thoughts?

Well never tried anything illegal. Have dabbled with the idea of it and the more i look into it the more persuaded iam to try something!!!! all the evidence i have collated shows alcohol more or at least equally dangerous to other substances. I would never try the addictive ones but some at the bottom end of the list sound quite interesting!?

What about yourself what do you think of it overall?
If you tried some at the lower end of the scale, you'd probably think - great - and move onto something else. Drugs aren't cool, in whatever form.
I'll admit I've smoked cannabis (not skunk) in my time and I like a glass of wine now and again. Other than that, I've never been interested in experimenting. I've seen first hand the damage drugs can do.
Question Author
NO. NO i wouldn't.
I have exercised control on alcohol for 7 years so i see no reason why i would change my behaviours for a different drug.
Especially if i picked a non addictive substance.
You might pick a substance that is non addictive but you WILL become addicted to the effects

But im not addicted to drinking or playing computer games or watching films or going to the gym.

apart from alcohol the above are not addictive but are all highly enjoyable for me, but i have control over all things in my life i know when to do something and when to stop as well.

The fact of the matter is alcohol is a far more potent drug than say cannabis, ecstasy or mushrooms!
I saw it and thought it was pretty accurate, although i did expect alcohol to be higher up. Always knew ecstasy wasnt very dangerous i used to do it every weekend along with millions of others and there have been very few deaths and no addiction. it should definitely be in a lower class. I do think that heroin and cocaine were only put at the top because of addiction and the problems that causes. But it is possible to use these drugs and not be addicted to them (smoking heroin that is).
The fact that the drug they use in Ritalin which is prescribed to children with ADHD was quite high up was very worrying. I dont agree with prescribing drugs to kids like this.
I actually think illegal drugs should be legal or at least decriminalised as i have said in previous posts and wont go into now.
(I am also the Sherman)

Aims I have toyed with the idea, and with E i dont even think its that bad, especially compared with alcohol. I just feel too scared to actually take it!? I really dont think it'll be bad or damage my body any more than my Saturday night up the town will on alcohol. I just don't know if i would ever be brave enough to actually do it.

But I do agree that its classification is well wrong! Seeing all my mates that have taken it and been far more in control of their bodies compared to people on alcohol has made me realise its not as bad as the media suggest.
I think a lot of these studies forget that Es and coke on the 'open market' are never pure. Forget what the effects of the drug are, it's all the other crap the dealers cut into their products that we should be worried about. Anyone who has tried drugs will tell you the effects are never the same twice and there is no way of telling where the effects are coming from... drain cleaner anyone?
that is always a good point, and you can never REALLY know for sure, however the fact is roughly 500,000 people take ecstasy every weekend and there is not enough bad statistics for it to be something that can be up for serious consideration.

obviously im guessing here but as you dont hear about it that often (and when it does you can bet your bottom dollar that the red tops will use it for front page) that its probably just as likely to get a bad pill as it is to get an alcoholic drink thats gone off!

but as we dont know enough 'true' statistics about the illegal drugs i admit that it is pure speculation on my part!
re the LSD and flying thing, Bill Hicks made the highly sensible observation that just taking LSD and thinking they could fly wasn't the problem.

Not seeing if you could achieve take off from the ground before you tried a high building was.

waldo the more you speak the more impressed i am with your knowledge/insights.

I too am a hicks fan and was actually watching that sketch the other night!

he was one of the most switched on cats ive ever heard speak!
sherman, there is probably not much point in taking an E nowadays, they are not the same as they were back in the 90's we used to get good pills back then and they used to cost us at least 10 each. i stopped doing them in 2001 and by then they didnt do much and only cost a few quid each! they were just so cut with other things. its true you dont know what any of them are cut with but the facts are that a lot of people take them and very few people die (and thats from not drinking enough water) so whatever it is cant be too bad! probably just as bad things in McDonalds food!
