Thank you very much, all four. I did see the earlier posts but wasn't really far enough along with it to benefit greatly. A clue towards 15d the slang term for an NCO wouldn't go amiss either - they all seem to be different depending on the country.
I'm sure I'll be back at a later stage though for some more assistance - thanks again
