My uncle spoke to a medium after my nan died (which is my uncles mum) and the meduim said that he was taking a holiday the same year which was true and when he gets there there will be yellow flowers by the pool and that they are his mum.

the meduim had no idea were he was going on holiday or were he was going

do you think its true or not?

mediums dont tell the future stylinsam, that would be a fortune teller. However, nobody can tell you what will happen in the future because it hasn't happened yet. That's the great thing about futures, with a bit of work you can influence your future but nobody can tell you what will happen.

My dad's side of the family are very spiritual (I'm not), and are friends with a few mediums. I think it's in their 'code' that they won't tell you anything bad stylinsam, so I wouldn't worry too much.

There aren't too many decent mediums out there, so go to somewhere with a good reputation. I wouldn't go to one myself as I'm quite sceptical, but apparently when my dad's auntie was around she was fantastic. I don't think it's their 'job' to tell you what will happen, but 'guide' you as it were.

My dad has all his readings on tape and they're great to listen to. She told him all about me, my sister and brother before we were born!

I think if you're intrigued, you should go but don't get your hopes up in case you're disappointed. Good luck x

All mediums/psychics/fortune tellers and other assorted charlatans are con artists preying on the insecure and weak of mind. Do yourself a favour and forget it. Make your own future starting today

I totally agree with Loosehead. If youd of seen Derren Brown last Sunday, youd see why! Its all a con, and you only hear what you want to hear! Save your money!
Not too difficult a prediction was it - going on holiday- most people do each year, and yellow flowers by the pool!
Go for it, just don't take it too seriously. I've been to a few fortune tellers and tarot people and I've listened but not really thought about it afterwards. If stuff they say comes true then yeah, it's strange but it doesn't mean anything. It's all just a bit of fun :)
a medium psychic whatever cannot tell your future at all they can predict rubbish that can change your plans and make you work towards the future. what if a medium said something like "if you join a gym good stuff will happen" well no **** sherlock chances are join a gym you'll get fit and also say you do believe they can predict the future well what does it matter if they tell you bad stuff is going to happen? if they CAN predict it then wether they tell you or not it is still going to happen. and also seriously what happiness do you expect to take away from it? if they tell you something bad is going to happen then what will you do? live your life in fear do yourself a favour look in the mirror tell yourself what you are unhappy about and get out there and change it, for example if you think your unhappy because you are overweight, what the hell is a medium gonna tell you "i see that the weight will drop off of you" no what they need to be told is go running or go on a diet and reaaly someone told you someone in retirement is going on holiday this year? really? my gran goes about 5 a year since retiring

Sorry stylinsam but I agree 100% with Loosehead & Mr Cheese. If mediums / fortune tellers / etc were genuine they would be so fantastically wealthy that us mere mortals would never get an appointment with them They certainly wouldn't be found in mock caravans by the amusement arcade or putting up advertising cards in Somerfield.

These people are nothing but con-artists taking money off vulnerable people. If they were cowboy builders preying on the elderly they would be ostracised but because they are somehow seen as harmless, no-one seems to care.

We have a close friend who went to a medium / fortune teller while she was pregnant because she was worried she would miscarry (she believes she had a miscarriage a few years ago). This idiot said she would be absolutely fine as this child was the spirit of her previously miscarried baby & was sent to ease her pain. Unfortunately, our friend believed her & tells anyone that will listen that her son is a genuine angel sent by God (and she is not speaking metaphorically). Can you imagine how healthy her relationship with that child is going to be? Even worse, can you imagine what that would have done to our friend had she miscarried again?

Harmless..?

Please don't waste your time and money encouraging these people. No-one can tell the future & no-one can speak to the dead.

Loosehead got it right: charlatans is a very polite way of putting it as I would say 'blood-sucking leeches', 'vultures preying on the desperate' and a lot of other things that the AB editor probably wouldn't allow.

Your life, your future - you deal with it.

If you do go and see a medium, don't give them your date of birth. They will do a "reading" around your star sign. I went to one, who did just that. I am a gemini, but not a true gemini, so some of the things she said, did not fit my character. When i told her this, she found another way of explaining it! Be careful choose wisely and with a big open mind!
I beg to differ. stylinsam I went to a medium several years ago. He knew nothing about me just my 1st name. He told me not to tell him anything as he would tell me. He said my parents were there with me (Both deceased),described them both to a tee. He gave me messages and told me things that only my parents would have known. My youngest son has Asperger Syndrome, the medium picked that up and even gave me my sons 1st name! I swear I told him nothing. I still have the tape and listen to it from time to time. He used no props just held my hands. I chose a genuine medium:-))

are they gypsys does anybody no

None of the mediums my nan is friends with are Gypsies. x
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion's but I can honestly say the medium did not know me or I him. Yes there are many charletens out there who prey on the vunerable. Have any of you ever been to a spiritualist church? The "Reader" usually someone from another part of the country gives out messages to people. These churches charge a pittance 2-3,toward the upkeep of their little halls. The name of the medium I went to in Cardiff was Laurence (Larry) Harry. He now lives in Canada but has his own website stylinsam.
