N S & I still send someone out to a Premium Bond Top Winner's address to inform them personally - I knew they used to do that when the scheme started in 1957 (I've still got a £1 bond from then) but I thought they gave it up years ago.

I haven't won anything since January.  I had to cash in my bonds to pay for my flat.

I still have a few and still check them each month.
