Its not about Tolerance. I've never said same sex marriages should not be allowed - just I find them strange, not the union itself, just the fact of 'marriage'. Its a personal opinion and folks should be able to do what they want as long as its not against the Law -just don't expect everyone to agree.

heterosexuals have long been allowed to have a civil ceremony ... if you get married in a register office you are not allowed any religious refernces anyway, therefore it is a civil ceremony

That's a Civil Wedding, bednobs - with all the historical baggage that is attached to weddings (regardless of the religious aspect).

Civil Partnerships are a completely different thing - and have been available to heterosexual couples only since 2019.

I don’t watch the soaps but I’m fed up hearing about other people’s inclinations or whatever they want to call them. Added to that I’m not sure where I fit in to modern life any more. First I was told on these very pages that i am cisgender (never heard of it before) and now I discover I’m also demigender (or something like that) and there was I thinking I’m
just me - a lady who likes men and is married to a man - so pretty ordinary really - and all the time I’m not ordinary at all. I have labels that I’d never noticed attached to me by other people who have decided I am what they’ve decided I am.

Just live your private lives in your own way people without advertising it - and let the rest of us get on with ours without expecting us to notice you. I couldn’t give a hoot what you do as long as it’s legal and doesn’t hurt anyone. Just leave those who are happy with who they are to be who they are.

yes thanks. The law has also changed again since then an allows (embraces) same sex marriage, so what has a definition from the 1970's got to do with it? As much as a definition from the 1870s or the 1770s
