Miss_____ has shared this year's 500 words competition with the English department and the focus this year is BLM.
Use your creativity to express your views on this vital movement. From the work we have seen so far, we know that you are more than capable of airing your views diplomatically, sensitively and with extreme empathy and compassion. In fact, some of your work so far has had us all in tears.

He doesn't have any views on it...shall I do the homework for him?

Maybe go really overboard on the merits of abolishing the police, installing a marxist regime, opening up all borders, giving black people priority over whites, Asians and ethnic minorities in the jobs market (especially in education sector), supporting the PLO's struggles against the Zionists, promoting anti semetism etc, , Of course one should also consider , but carefully dismantle, opposite arguments.
Or if it's a state school, do what 80% of pupils do and that is to not do the set work.
Don’t do the homework for him.
The point of the essay is to assess his writing ability, not his views. I think any good teacher could tell whether a piece was done by the pupil or not.
calmck: yes but whatever he writes will be scrutinised and anything less than slavish adherence to the prescribed "truths" will label the kid and probably his entire family as racist, bigots, xenophobes etc. It's a trap to identify the witches for hunting.
^ Really, TTT? Do you not think most teachers already have enough on their plates?

Awwww, bless.
they can always fit in a bit of brainwashing/witch hunting FF.
You don’t need to bless me, Roy. I answered your question. I stand by my answer.
Going by the previous competitions the children are meant to tell a story. Does this teacher have a different agenda and want a 14 Year old To write an essay on what he understands of the BLM movement. She should make it clear what she wants and why
// will be scrutinised and anything less than slavish adherence to the prescribed "truths" will label the kid and probably his entire family as racist, bigots, xenophobes //

Wow! That is a really bad case of paranoia you have there. You need to get out more.
Cleverjo: "The point of the essay is to assess his writing ability, not his views. " - then why pick such a controversial subject?
open your eyes gromit, it's happening all around you.
TTT//then why pick such a controversial subject?//

Why not?
I remember writing a piece about abortion when I was 14. It makes you think and put both sides of the argument.
TTT,
It is a stupid question for a kids course work.

The state haven’t set a trap for the family, and the answer used to surveil the extended family and lock them up forever.

Get a grip man, you are losing the plot.
who said anything about the "state"?
It’s a kid's homework question For Funks Sake.
The answer is in the question which is not "use your dad's creativity to express your dad's views"

That's no better than your first reply, Bednobs.
If you read the OP it's quite obvious what is being asked for.
Why Roy? Your question is should you do your son's homework for him. Imo you should not and at 14 I'd be pretty disappointed in my offspring if they had not worked that out! I help my 8 year old with her homework sometimes if she has trouble with fractions for instance or needs help with strategies for remembering spellings but in general and especially at 14 children are expected to do their own homework not get their parents to do it
gromit; "It’s a kid's homework question For Funks Sake. " - how is that the "state"? It's one lefty teacher with an agenda.
