You shouldn't renew if you don't want to throw away €100 for the sake of having an Irish passport.
It is worf more than E100

they have made clear that the irish settlement on population will NOT be affected by Brexit as it is covered by the glorious legislation of 1922 following their gallant fight for freedom
and the 1949 act ( when Ireland became Eire etc etc)

whilst the Irish and English politicians were yarting and blaarting like good 'uns, the civil servants involved negotiated a very far sighted and sensble settlement that allowed free movement, voting rights and rights to settle.

what about ROI passports when going from London to Paris
as usual no one has any idea.....
As things stand, after Brexit a UK passport holder is likely to find travel to anywhere in the EEA subject to complications beyond what has been the case for decades. He/she will have severely limited rights to staying anywhere in the EEA and will not be able to work there either unless in possession of the relevant permits. An Irish/Eire passport holder will have no such restrictions at all..

Slightly behind the UK at the moment but we'll have to see how that pans out after Brexit.
jno, there is one factor which I suspect is never considered in the different passport rating lists: When you present a passport to someone at a border location or somewhere else you may (you will likely never know) raise in the individual's mind what to them is a stereotypical and negative image of someone of your nationality. This is more likely in the case of certain nationalities. I suspect this is a very real drawback in some cases, including for example with USA passports and others when the country and its people are disliked - the UK comes under this heading but almost certainly not somewhere like Singapore, Switzerland, etc.
