just heard it on news, they were talking about muslims integrating into germany and merkel now has a massive task on her hands to find a solution to the problem, they talked about the problems that faced france and jaques chirac banning of the burhka etc when he was in charge, german security experts are now saying that they believe isis teams are active in germany asfter coming into the country disquised as refugees , wow really !! .

for me , the fact is that muslims cant intergrate fully with western society, i mean look what they are taught in their koran , such verses here - “Believers, make war on the infidels who dwell around you. Deal firmly with them. Know that God is with the righteous.” Quran 9:123 also here - Quran 8:59-60 / Quran 2:286 / Quran 3:147 / Quran 8:12 /

“Believers, take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends. They are friends with one another…” Quran 5:51

so there you have it in black and white, how to hell can these people fit in with us, i cannot see any solution to the problem.

merkel and co have only added to the problems .

If you did get converted Sandy it must be because you found some persuasive argument that indicated they were right all along. I doubt that would happen.

Personally I have no interest in studying in depth subjects that would bore and be a chore. I'm no longer in school with exams looming. I have opinions that I am willing to argue, based on what I do know and believe, and those who are more knowledgeable can try to put a counter argument together if they think they can find a persuasive one. But studying simply to voice an opinion, no; no one should need to only speak on those things they have an intimate deep knowledge of. Even experts need to make the case rather than just have their judgement accepted.
Andy; You are correct, I always thought Harlan Ellison was a woman.

Perhaps on this occasion, my opinion is more 'informed'?

What a nice change!

An excellent point.

Some debates on here turn sour very quickly when posters come on and disparage the views of others on the basis that those views are perceived as being uninformed.

It leads to a sense of elitism and intellectual snobbery which has no place on an open debating forum like this - and may intimidate people from joining in, which they are perfectly entitled to do, with views they are perfectly entitled to express, without being patronised or denigrated.
//my opinion is more 'informed'?//
What sex a writer is, isn't an 'opinion', it's a statement of fact.

Fair enough - on this occasion then, I am one hundred per cent correct, and you are one hundred per cent incorrect - an even nicer change!
From OG, //Even experts need to make the case rather than just have their judgement accepted.//

From andy-hughes, //An excellent point.//

As I see it the people who have studied Islam have made a case and continue to do so – and that case may be easily confirmed by anyone with the wherewithal to indulge in a little research. Unfortunately few are possessed of the necessary wherewithal.

The Old Testament has very little to do with Christianity other than being a background to the society in which Christianity came into being. The OT is the history of the Jewish people and the myths upon which Judaism is based. Christianisty is based on the teachings of Jesus which are much more compassionate and user friendly.

SPOT ON...thats the way i see it anyway.

But you are quite correct, I have opted not to argue points of Muslim faith with you, so I will be declining your offer to pin the entire tenets of the Muslim belief system on the opinion of one individual Muslim, given that his view will be his and his alone, and he will not be presuming to know what his entire brotherhood think and feel.

" In fact, realising that one opinion coloured by human nature, and not speaking for an entire faith is simply all that any of us can offer, is something you may wish to take on board."

the fact is , you are blind, ignorant and wrong, your know damn well that if you ask any muslim if what is written in the koran is wrong you will get the same answer by 99.9% of them. prove me different .

you know that and thats why you threw in the towel !!
DD. The best way to confound a Muslim is to simply say "Are you a good Muslim? and when they say "yes" (as they must) you then say, "Then you must believe in Sharia?

The easiest way to confound a Christian is to simply say "Are you a good Christian?" and when they say "Yes", ask them why they have not given away all they own and followed Christ? The bible says the Lord will provide for them - why have they not put that message into practice?
Dieseldick - your link is to the ramblings of some random self-aggrandaiser who has been linked to before to bolster nonsenseical arguments.

Proof, if any were needed, that any numpty with a computer and a video camera can spout garbage into the public domain - but that is not the same as making it worth the time and trouble to listen to it.

I think this man fancies himself as a social commentator - but that does not mean he becomes one by this means.

Anyone can do this - and does, sadly!
Just to throw another hat into the ring...

Most religions are a form of ancient law&order. Nowadays we have an efficient legal system, any 'belief' therefore is a conflict of interest. - Discuss
Christianity doesn't request giving everything away, but anyway, that has nothing to do with upholding sharia law - do you know what that is?

you cannot get away from the fact that islam is an evil cult ! it is not a religion. come off with all the drivel and excuses you want.

the world at large is now seeing islam for what it really is .

pat condell is right , you on the otherhand have more insight than an ostrich.

pat condell " nonsensical arguments " okay , you go ahead and tell us what he is saying is untrue , we are waiting.

Andy-hughes - “... Some debates on here turn sour very quickly when posters come on and disparage the views of others on the basis that those views are perceived as being uninformed...”

If I were to go onto a discussion forum that specialised in the writings of Jane Austen and stated to speculate that, in my opinion, Mr. Darcy was a Hispanic transsexual who was involved in a threesome between Mrs. Bennet and her daughter, Elizabeth, then I would undoubtedly be ridiculed as being laughably uninformed. Even if my feelings were hurt, those doing the ridiculing and laughing would be correct to call me out for my lack of knowledge and wild, unsubstantiated speculation.

Why do you feel that your opinion on the Islamic faith should be exempt from ridicule when, by your own admission, you have not read any Islamic texts? Do you think that uninformed opinion is something to be lauded when discussing complex matters such as totalitarian religious belief systems? Your arguments on this thread sound to me as though they are emanating from the mouth of Stacey Dooley; a low-information journalist if ever I saw one. The kind of person who thinks that their uninformed opinion is as valid or more valid than someone who has studied the matter at hand and in detail for many years.
