Because a proverb says A bad person will not go unpunished. (Prov. 11:21)

Ratter, we can be confident that the bible isn't god's word because god did not write the bible any more than he wrote the koran. That is possibly why they differ a little.

@goodlife You are fine one to be lecturing others about lying and bearing false witness - You commit this every single time you post an unattributed cut and paste.

You are the worlds worst example of what you lecture us on what a christian should be, in my opinion. You call those that disagree with you stupid, even when they use as their evidence the same book you claim tells the truth. Those that disagree are accused of bearing false witness - again despite using scriptural verse to substantiate their claim.

And when all else fails, you pity those that disagree.

This is precisely why it is wrong to use the bible as a standard. Because it has many versions, it has mulriple interpretations, depending on who is making the interpretations, and it is out of date.

Your argument, just like all your others, fails the test of reason, logic and frankly compassion.
^ Agreed.

Tell me, goodlife, what do you think this passage has to teach us?

1 Timothy, 6:1

"6 All who are under the yoke of slavery should consider their masters worthy of full respect, so that God’s name and our teaching may not be slandered. 2 Those who have believing masters should not show them disrespect just because they are fellow believers. Instead, they should serve them even better because their masters are dear to them as fellow believers and are devoted to the welfare of their slaves."
Here is another proverb..'A drowning man will clutch at a straw'
Here is another ...........'If the cap fits then wear it'
another.........................'It is a wise man who knows his own father'
made sense of the yet goodlife.

Did you know that you were born a slave? The fact of the matter is that all mankind born to earthly human fathers have been born slaves, the children of slaves. If you look honestly into the facts of the case and see how it is true, it will help you to understand many things about yourself. It will lead to your understanding how to be freed from such slavery, so keep studying the Bible, and that all for today folk.
well thank the lord for that !
"It will lead to your understanding how to be freed from such slavery, so keep studying the Bible, and that all for today folk."

But in Romans, Timothy, and Corinthians, the Bible tells me that I should be a grateful and dutiful slave to my master. It also tells me in Romans that I should respect any and every authority because it has been put there by God.

That doesn't sound much like freedom to me.
Kromovaracun, (I think I spelt it correctly that time) The irony of goodlife's last posting is that he is a slave to the bible but is not remotely aware of it. It is a matter of the blind trying to lead the not so blind and not realising that they can see that he is blind.
Proverb. 'Let not a blind man dig a pit lest it consume him'

Goodlife, Evidence for God the liar.

//And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet…..// Ezekiel 14:9

//Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.//
1 Kings 23

Krom, with friends like God, Uzzah didn’t need enemies! I’ve always thought he would have been better off to let the Ark crash to the floor. So much for trying to help!! Nice chap, God. :o(
"The irony of goodlife's last posting is that he is a slave to the bible". Totally wrong, Jom: he is a slave to the Watchtower interpretation of the Bible.
"I’ve always thought he would have been better off to let the Ark crash to the floor. So much for trying to help!! "

Very true.

Interestingly though,if Uzzah had not steadied it, and it had fallen off the wagon, it's interesting to wonder what would have happened.

What if it fell open, and people had been able to see inside it? God has killed thousands for that. Perhaps God killed Uzzah for depriving him of a chance to kill a few thousand people.

V_E :-) so not even the 'true' 'word of god' but a version of a badly edited version of a translation of another translation of something dimly remembered by people who weren't there.
I'll believe that any day, but not this century.
it always amuses me to read goodlifes responses - it love the way they are presented as though they are a direct counteraction for s few previous posts - yet more often than not bear no relation to any post, address nothing thats been said, and have no real relevance or point in the discussion - in short, they are just totally random waffle.

i cannot understand how he reads something, then begins a response that has nothing whatsoever to do with it... how he can read something and come to the words hes typing.
I suspectt that he doesn't actually read posts addressed to him...
