Ahhh mystery solved. So my advice is to eat very lightly the day before you need to take the stuff. Then drink as much as you can once you start taking it and then drink some more.

Have a hot marmite or Oxo in place of the meal the night before as you'll be getting hungry by then.

Keep drinking before and after the treatment and you'll be just fine.

Good luck.
good luck ratter, I hope it goes well!
Lots of us been there, - no problem, just don't stray too far from a loo when you've taken the 'stuff ', the urge to go comes pretty quickly!
Sounds a bit grim! Good luck with it all. X
Good luck ratter - at least you can enjoy the long weekend now!
Hope it all goes smoothly, Ratter. My OH went through it not long ago....turned out to be Irritable Bowel Syndrome. That is apparently very common.

Best of luck with everything. x
im sure all abers send their best wishes for your examination next week... good luck
Best Wishes Ratter. Hope all goes well.
good luck, i had it done a couple of years ago, the stuff you have to drink to clear you out is gross, and you need to drink lots of it, i managed to get one of the nurses to let me put a little squash in it to make it taste better

Dave.
Nothing to it Ratters, just a sore bum, don`t wipe.....pat gently. lol.

Ty everybody for such support, I'm not worried about anything, I think its just to be on the safe side.

By Jacksie, Its always been strictly exit only!!!!

I'm not really looking forward to it though :-(
I found the stuff worked quite slowly on me, so don't necessarily expect everything to come out with a whoosh. As already advised, get in some wet wipes.
PS they actually gave me live video coverage from their little camera while it was going on. Needless to say, I didn't recognise anything I knew.
RATTER - be sure to let us know how you are. ♥♥♥
Good luck! I wanted to see the camera images at mine (up and down in one session) but they took my glasses off me so it was all a bit fuzzy :( If you're not as blind as me it could be an "interesting" distraction.

I will give you live coverage, minute by minute :-)

Just as well we dont have smellyvision!!
trust me it won't smell :)

You'll be fine ratter. Just keep us apdated on the results xx

The stuff you take these days isn't as bad as it was a few years ago.
No, Mine was lemon flavoured. You'll be awake but feel dozy and it isn't a long drawn out procedure over and done with in about 20 mins.Try to watch the screen its facinating. Mine was negative just showed I had the start of piles.
They've shrunk now tho.
My next port of call was a Barrium enema x-ray, thats where they found my prob.

Ratter, you will be fine. I have had this twice. My only recommendation is that you have Vaseline or similar to hand just in case.
I'm sure you'll be fine, Ratter, but good luck to you all the same.

I'm sure you'll find, as the rest of us did, that downing the evil stuff to clear you out is by far the worst bit of the experience....and at least you do that bit in your own home where you can curse the quacks to your heart's delight.
Let us know how it goes.
:-))
