I wonder if you mean the "Monument" which was built in 1671-7 to commemorate the Great Fire of London 1666. Designed by Sir Christopher Wren & Robert Hooke, it was constructed of Portland stone. Standing 202 feet high, it is the tallest isolated column in the world.

And it is 202' feet high because it is located 202' from where the fire started.
